The Tape Me, I'm Yours' staff have been doing karaoke shows in the Chicago area for
18 years, before the advent of laser technology. We also provide DJ services and
karaoke for a variety of private parties, weddings, bah-mitzvahs and special events.
Equipment
We have an excellent sound system for you fussy, artist types. We use Shure microphones
and a Yorkville power mixer with 20 digital effects and plenty of reverb for that
extra KICK! A floor monitor is used so you can actually HEAR what you are singing.
(What a concept!) Many karaoke bars do not have this simple, but
essential feature.
We use Pioneer Laser and JVC CDG players.
Songbook
We have over 65,000 songs to choose from; covering a wide variety of popular and country
music. Most versions are Pioneer and Sound Choice (the best in CDG). New songs are added
on a regular basis and we consistently receive compliments on our comprehensive
selection. You won't have to worry about seeing the same song listed 3 or 4 times
in our book. We only list the version that sounds closest to the popular version you hear on
the radio. That way, you never have to worry if you picked the wrong
version. Plus, singers are always welcome to bring their own CDGs.
If you don't see your favorite song(s), feel free to suggest additional songs - we'll put them on our "To Buy" list.
What Makes Us Different
Many KJ's stay in the background, operate the equipment and just move from performer
to performer. BLAND is the keyword!
What makes US different is our focus on audience participation. We aim to get the audience
involved in the fun through our friendly, "karaoke isn't rocket science", interaction.
Although we never force anyone, folks who thought they would never sing in front of a crowd
somehow end up on stage before the night is over. Our variety of musical props, unique personality
and strange sense of humor also lends a special flavor to a Tape Me, I'm Yours show.
Every week someone tells us: "You're the best karaoke show I've ever
seen!" Naturally,
people keep coming back.

Audio Tapes
Another valued feature that we offer is audio tapes of your performance. You can play them
for your friends ( just for laughs) or use them to hone your singing talent.
